WI DNR Updates August, 2026

  1. We are looking to purchase new firearms and trailers this year.

    1. Trailers- we are joining the OHV program and their contract with I39 supply to purchase 3 new HE trailers (aluminum)

    2. Firearms- we are looking to purchase both orange sets and live fire firearms this year. We are in the beginning process of budget and then pricing out what we could afford vs. what we need/requested by OST

  2. Appreciation Events

    1. The events are going well and we have had a few that are very well attended like Linda’s, The Foundry 45 event (run by Rick Heisler), and Kayla’s are upcoming.

    2. We accepted a few donations for our awards account/spousal attendance at our events which should help in next years events

    3. Thank you all again for your donations at each event and speaking about WHEIA!

  3. Live Fire Policy

    1. We have received questions on the live fire policy, which is great.

    2. Hosting an online Q&A on August 19 (ask your OST for details) to brief instructors on our goals for this policy and how we came to our decisions

    3. Thank you WHEIA for your assistance in drafting this policy!

  4. RSOS Bureau Director

    1. Hiring process for April Dombrowksi’s position was released early in July. Hoping for the new hire to be in place by mid September, if all goes as planned.
